Protein is composed of amino acids, which make up 75% of the human body, and are essential to almost every bodily function.  Which is why you need to consume one gram of protein for every kilogram of your body weight every day. Which means if you weight 65 kg you need to have 65 g of protein every day.
Protein is found in foods and wise health conscious people – whether young, old, sports persons – keep away from protein powder shakes and bars and go the natural high protein, high energy way.
And what better food than Egg. It is natural, pure, high protein and always comes up on top of the list when speaking about muscle building, fitness and general good health. It is one of the cheapest sources of protein and easily available. Eggs have low amount of calories, so at least two per day will do very nicely. It is also versatile since it can be cooked boiled, fried, poached, tossed, diced, sliced and be added to almost anything as an accompaniment!
Chicken and other white meats are always recommended as protein source, too, because they are much leaner than red meats which are naturally high in fat content
 
Fish and seafood is also a good source of protein. No need to worry about tuna, mackerel, salmon, and other fish that contain fat since its omega-3 fatty acid - something that's beneficial to your health.
Dairy products like milk, cheese and yog hurt also contain high sources of protein, as well as calcium. Taking their low fat forms would even be better. They don't only help promote muscle-building but also keep your bones strong.
Soy is another recommended source of this element. It can even help decrease cholesterol levels. It also comes in different forms like milk, tofu, and soy nuts. Even protein powder drinks and bars use soy as a main ingredient.
Taking in the proper amount of protein can definitely help your goals in your bodybuilding or fitness program and the overall maintenance or development of the body. It would be ideal to check with your physician or dietitian about sample meal plans and correct amounts of vitamins, minerals and nutrients that would be best for you.
Artificial proteins and shakes are not recommended
Artificial protein through shakes, smoothies and supplements have disadvantages. You may digest it a lot quicker than natural protein thus making you feel hungry. One of the benefits of natural protein is that it keeps you satiated for a longer time periods thus helping you keep your weight down. You will also be missing out on some nutrients that only natural sources of protein can supply. Additionally, among the common complaints of protein smoothies, shakes and supplements is the fact that fact they lead to bloating.
